Taking on The Kilbryde Hospice Corporate Challenge

Our CSR initiatives encompass pro-bono work for small businesses, contributing to charitable organisations, and participating in community-focused events. One of our most cherished partnerships is with Kilbryde Hospice, a fantastic charity providing compassionate care for people with life-limiting illnesses in South Lanarkshire and Greater Glasgow.
Kilbryde Hospice: A Pillar of Compassionate Care
Kilbryde Hospice offers a wide range of free support services for individuals with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and carers. Located on the grounds of Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride, the hospice is dedicated to providing specialist palliative care that adds quality and meaning to the lives of their patients. Kilbryde Hospice operates as a voluntary independent hospice, committed to delivering care of the highest standard without discrimination, ensuring that everyone in need receives the support they deserve.
Our Relationship with Kilbryde Hospice
Our relationship with Kilbryde Hospice began with a shared vision of supporting the local community and providing compassionate care. Over the past year, we have collaborated with the hospice through various fundraising activities and events. Whether it's donating vouchers to raffles, offering our design and marketing services, or participating in the 2023/24 Corporate Challenge, our team at Squinty Pixels is dedicated to making a positive impact.
The Charitable Campaign: A 24-Hour Gaming Marathon
One of the highlights of our charitable efforts in 2023 was the 24-hour charity stream hosted by Squinty Pixels to support Kilbryde Hospice. On April 22nd, our team, along with close friends, embarked on a marathon gaming session featuring Stellaris, a grand strategy game of galactic conquest. The goal was to draw as much attention as possible to the incredible work Kilbryde Hospice is doing through an activity that resonates with a large audience – gaming!
The stream was broadcast live on our Twitch channel, and thanks to the generosity of our viewers and supporters, we raised an impressive £886, reaching 88% of our £1,000 target. Popular streamer and podcaster AyeForScotland even highlighted the event, further boosting its visibility and impact. The funds raised directly contribute to Kilbryde Hospice's mission of providing specialist palliative care.
Beyond the Stream: Additional Contributions
In addition to the gaming marathon, Squinty Pixels donated vouchers for local flight simulator sessions, signed drone photographs of Celtic Park and Ibrox, and three months of social media management services. We also produced video content for Kilbryde Hospice's gala day, ensuring a wide reach and increased awareness of the hospice's vital work. Through these efforts, we raised over £1,000 for Kilbryde Hospice and were recognised for our contributions at their annual awards night.
Looking Ahead: The Next Corporate Challenge
As we look to the future, Squinty Pixels is excited to continue our partnership with Kilbryde Hospice for their next Corporate Challenge. Building on the success of our previous campaigns, we are already planning another 24-hour gaming marathon to rally support and raise funds for this essential cause. We believe that through innovative and engaging initiatives, we can bring the community together and make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.
